When you are in labor or need hospital care, call your midwife! After you call and have spoken to the midwife to develop a plan, we'll arrange to meet you at the office or the hospital.
• If it's between 5 am and 9 pm, and you're able to walk: When you arrive on the main campus of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, go to the East Garage. You can valet or park in the East Garage, then take the elevator in the East Garage to the 4th floor. You'll arrive at triage, where you will be greeted and guided to the appropriate area of care.
• If it's between 9 pm and 5 am, or it's difficult to walk: When you arrive on the main campus of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, go to the entrance of the Emergency Department. Your support person can valet park or can park in the East Garage across from the hospital. An ER nurse will welcome you and escort you to our labor area, located on the fourth floor.
Our phones are answered by our team M-F 8-4:30, but the providers are available for urgent needs 24/7. If you are an established patient with an urgent matter, please call the office number and the Vanderbilt operator will page the provider on call who will then call you back.
