A complete childbirth class that covers the third trimester of pregnancy and how to prepare for labor. Empowered childbirth includes topics such as when to call your provider, breathing and relaxation exercises, and what to expect postpartum.

We will cover hands on comfort techniques and laboring positions for all phases of labor as well as pushing techniques and positions. There will also be a brief discussion about spinning babies/belly mapping, pain relief options, and potential medical procedures.

This is a very active class! Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move around in easily, and bring a yoga mat/beach towel and a pillow. 45 minutes will be given for a lunch break but it is a good idea to bring a snack.

There will be an option to do a " trial run" AFTER class where you can meet the instructor in OB Triage and see any empty rooms that are available.

Save time! Before your first visit, click on a form title below to download and print our new patient forms.

We Deliver at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

When you are in labor or need hospital care, call your midwife! After you call and have spoken to the midwife to develop a plan, we'll arrange to meet you at the office or the hospital.

When it's time to go to the hospital, you can enter in two ways:

• If it's between 5 am and 9 pm, and you're able to walk: When you arrive on the main campus of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, go to the East Garage. You can valet or park in the East Garage, then take the elevator in the East Garage to the 4th floor. You'll arrive at triage, where you will be greeted and guided to the appropriate area of care.

• If it's between 9 pm and 5 am, or it's difficult to walk: When you arrive on the main campus of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, go to the entrance of the Emergency Department. Your support person can valet park or can park in the East Garage across from the hospital. An ER nurse will welcome you and escort you to our labor area, located on the fourth floor.
